Best eSIM for Europe: one plan for 36 countries, prices compared
Updated 30 October 2026
Europe is easy to cover with one eSIM, but plans differ more than they look: which countries are included, how long the plan lasts and how much a gigabyte costs. Here's how to choose, with prices side by side.
One country or the whole of Europe?
If your trip stays in one country, a plan for that country is usually cheaper than a regional one. If you'll cross borders, by train, car or a short flight, a regional plan saves you installing a new eSIM at each border.
Our Europe + UK plan covers 36 countries on one eSIM, including the UK, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland, which some EU-only plans leave out.

Not sure? Take the smaller size and top up the same eSIM if you run low.
Before you go
- Check your phone supports eSIM: dial *#06# and look for an EID number.
- Install the eSIM at home on Wi-Fi; the plan starts when you first connect in Europe.
- When you land, switch it on, turn on data roaming for it and choose it for mobile data.
- Leave data roaming off on your home SIM so it can't run up a bill.
Questions
Does it work in the UK and Switzerland?
Yes. Both are in our Europe + UK plan, along with Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.
Will it switch networks when I cross a border?
Yes, automatically. Your phone joins a local network in each country on the plan.
Does it work on ferries?
Near the coast, yes. Far out at sea there's no mobile signal on the plan, and ships' own networks aren't included, so there's no surprise bill.
Is a regional plan slower than a local one?
No. You use the same local networks; the plan just covers more countries.
